It is with an extremely saddened heart that I am faced in having to report the following:
As of 12:45 CST this morning (Saturday, Feb 13,1999), our beloved USA
Vice President (2AT011 Brownie) passed away as a result of post
operational complications. Brownie would have been 76 years old this
August. Information pertaining to where family condolences can be
forwarded will be announced as soon as they become available.
In support of all those who sent their wishes and gifts, be assured that
Brownie in the end, ... was able to appreciate the love you've shown.
Thank you each for all that you have done.

Another friend past away. Last year it was Jean
1AT759 from Roma who I knew for several years
also. She helped us a lot in Roma when our luggage was missed.
I'm really really sad to hear this. I've met him
twice in Italy (Asti/Rome) and we (Jan ex 19AT024,
Wim 19AT471, Rob 19AT043, Paul 19AT029) had a lot of fun with him.
Brownie, you will stay in our memories forever.
You invited us to come over to the US as you told
that you had enough rooms for us to stay.
Unfortunately this will not happen.
Our condolences to everyone who knew him,

I just came home from work and learned of the passing of my dear friend
Brownie 2AT011. I was very blessed to have known him and been associated
with him for the past several years and he was truly one of the finest
persons I have ever known. He was wise and helpful to me, in Alfa Tango
matters, and in personal matters as well. He could always see good in
everyone, and could bring out the best in people, even those with
whom he disagreed. It will be impossible to replace him as a friend, and
difficult to deal with not having his wise council.
Brownie talked to me a lot about his life and his sadness of Colita's
death. He never recovered from that loss. About the only thing he had left
was his beloved Alfa Tango and the people he was closest to in the Group.
He was so very proud of the honors that were bestowed upon him by Aldo and
the other leaders of the Group.
Now my prayers are for we who are left behind. I know that many of us will
take this very hard, and will need those prayers. To Aldo and the HQ Team,
to all the country officials, directors, and members, Please let us
remember the example Brownie set for us, and remember his wise advice, and
adhere to the standards that will make him smile as he walks hand in hand
now with his Colita and the angels in heaven.

Everyone will miss Brownie but the members who knew him well, those he called
"friend" and "brother", will be deeply affected.
His passing is almost like the loss of a family member.
Those who knew Brownie well are aware that he never recovered from the loss of
his wife, Colita. If he were given one wish, it would have been that they be
reunited. Your wish has been granted, my friend.

It was with much sadness to hear of the loss of our dear friend
Brownie. I have known Brownie for several years through telephone
conversations, but had never met him until September 1998 in Rome at
the World meeting. For those that never had the pleasure of meeting
him, you can only imagine what he was like. For the ones that did
have the pleasure of meeting him, I think we can all say that Brownie
was as fine an individual as one could ever want to meet. He was a
lot of fun to be around and there was never a dull moment with
him. Brownie was always available to offer assistance and guidance.
He will dearly be missed by all in the AT Group and his friends
outside the group. Brownie never got over the loss of his wife,
Colita, but one consolation, he now can rest in peace and be with his wife again.
The AT Members in the State of North carolina,

have made many friends thanks to him. I only hope he did not suffer long. I

To All Members of the Alfa Tango Group,
This weekend the AT's lost a member and good friend. Brownie 2AT011 left us to
join his beloved Colita. I, as others, will miss him dearly. He was and always
will be a true AT. Brownie will not be lonely in his new home. He will join
many old friends in the radio room. Just think, now along with Colita, he can
spend time with ROSANNA 304, BILL 423, BUD 427, JIM 453, MEL 753, DANA 133,
Sally 208, JOE 425 and all the other Alfa Tangos who have passed on.
Brownie gave so much to the group through the years. He was the Indiana
Director and then 2 Division Vice President, along with which he took the
duties of Awards and Materials manager. As the 2 Division V.P. he guided us
with wisdom and fairness that truly displayed the A.T. Spirit. He held us
together in times of poor conditions when operators had nothing better to do
but complain. As in any organization there are those that did not think as I,
but he still showed these operators that he was a fair and just person. These
individuals will never realize they also lost a good friend. We as a group
mourn his passing but are also happy he is with the person he loved so much
and missed every day he was without her. To Brownie and Colita, may your time
in Eternity be as happy as it was for you both here on earth. We will miss you
both and never forget you.
